Denada was founded by two veteran email marketers and two seasoned startup developers with a single mission: make email creative fast, smart, and effortless.
After years working with enterprise brands, Alex Williams and Matthew Caldwell repeatedly saw email teams bogged down by long development cycles, rigid tools, and endless revisions. The creative process was slow, fragile, and far removed from how marketers actually work.
In 2018, Alex began exploring a better way to build email—an early concept he called The Weedwacker. His belief was simple: there had to be a smarter alternative to building emails inside clunky ESP editors or time-consuming drag-and-drop tools. While those platforms promised ease, the reality was hours—or days—spent clicking, re-clicking, and fighting layouts.
As AI technology matured, it became clear that email creation didn’t need incremental improvement—it needed a complete rethinking.
Alex and Matthew partnered with Nick Farina and Kiyo Kubo, two exceptional engineers with a track record of building world-class digital products for brands like Vogue, Nike, and The American Museum of Natural History. Nick and Kiyo previously co-founded Meridian, a mobile app platform acquired by Aruba Networks (a Hewlett-Packard Enterprise company).
